about

Beautiful is an audio glimpse into the worship found at the ‘Burn
Church’, an alternative service at the St Albans Vineyard in the UK. A
collection of 14 wonderful new worship songs written and performed by
Marc James, Sam Lane, Jimmy Cooke, Deborah Clarke, Nico Bright and
Adam Dickens.
“For the last three years we've been trying to build something called
‘burn’. And every now and then, amidst the passion and the pain, Jesus
has shown up... breath-taking... beautiful. Here's the soundtrack.”
Chris Lane, Senior Pastor, St Albans Vineyard
Vineyard Music UK has teamed up with these talented yet humble guys
to produce an album of worship to our Beautiful God.
Included on the album is a new rendition of ‘Surrender’. Sung by Marc
James (who has also sung on ‘Holy’) this version takes the song onto a
new level with soaring violins, passionate vocals and screaming guitars,
all of which call us to a place of submission and knee-bowing awe of the
Almighty Jesus.
The title track ‘Beautiful’ is one of those songs that starts mellow and
then just builds and builds. The repeated declaration of ‘You are
beautiful’ is at once an expression of how we should see Jesus and how
He definitely sees us.
Sam and Marc will quote such influences as The Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam
& Stereophonics but this doesn’t mean to say the album isn’t original –
these influences are sympathetically interwoven with the band’s own
vocal signatures into a tapestry of songs that create a vibrant and
thoughtful masterpiece.
